Sociology is an interesting and relevant subject that can enable students to successfully navigate through everyday life, by raising awareness of the social world. There are many things that we take for granted in our everyday lives such as how we dress, what we believe, how we live, what we buy and what we participate in. However, for a Sociology student, finding out the reality of why and how we experience life is both a challenging and rewarding experience. The study of Sociology will give students a unique opportunity to practice and refine their academic writing skills. With a strong focus on analysis and evaluation, students will not only gain theoretical knowledge but will become active citizens intentional about changing social issues impacting society today.
