How parents can help

Parents can help students in their academic development by working in partnership with the English teacher to help improve learning. All students have planners; parents must read planners to check that homework is completed on time and inform the school of any problems.

Parents may wish to use the planner to communicate with teachers to check progress and monitor behaviour.

Parents can attend events specifically designed to discuss current attainment and to agree future targets with English teachers.

Parents should provide a quiet working area in the home where homework can be completed and encourage their daughter to read widely.
