School Trips

At Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy we place great importance on the education of the whole person, not just the academic side. Young people need to be given opportunities to develop their personal, social, moral, cultural and spiritual knowledge and skills. These are delivered through the curriculum and through the enrichment activities that the school organises. Therefore, we have drawn up a wide range of enrichment opportunities for students in every year group to participate in. Each curriculum area organises trips and visits for students to help support their learning, but in addition to that we have a good range of sport, art, drama, music and technology activities. In fact we must be one of the few schools in England to have a Trowel and Toothbrush Club which enables students to explore archaeology!

Our Director of Wider Learning, Mrs D Keane, is in charge of co-ordinating our enrichment programme and she works with the students and staff to ensure that the programme delivered is relevant to their needs.
